Welcome! Please fill out all required information below (Designated with a red asterisk*) and please fill in as much of the optional information as possible so we can get to know you better. Once you have submitted the form you will receive an email confirmation providing you with the final step to access our volunteer system.
Thank you for completing an application to be a Saving Paws Volunteer. Please email ORIENTATION@savingpawswi.com for the dates and times of our orientation meetings. We are located at N3141 Meade St., Appleton. Your attendance to a volunteer orientation meeting is required prior to the approval of your application.
Volunteer orientation provides an overview of Saving Paws policies and guidelines, and serves as an introduction to the various volunteer programs. All volunteers are required to attend an orientation session before volunteering for Saving Paws.
Rescue Care Volunteers must:
Be eleven (11) years of age or older to volunteer with a parent and sixteen (16) years of age or older to volunteer alone.
- Be able to squat, bend, twist, lift, and stand for long periods while working directly with the animals.
- Attend required training classes.
- Have a genuine concern for the welfare of animals.
- Be able to complete multiple tasks, have good communication skills and be able to follow rescue safety protocol as outlined in the volunteer orientation.
- Be self-motivated and have the ability to make appropriate judgment calls, asking questions when necessary.
- Have a willingness to work with all animals, regardless of appearance. A sick animal is not always a pretty animal, but they may be the one most in need of your love and attention.
Thank you!
